Get To Know A Pro

with PGA TOUR player and vineyard vines golf ambassador J.T. Poston.

What’s your favorite golf memory?

My favorite memory on the golf course to date would have to be getting my first PGA Tour win. Doing it an hour down the road from where I grew up and having a bunch of family and friends there to support and celebrate along the way is something I will never forget.

What did you think the first time you played Pebble Beach?

Pebble Beach is one of the prettiest walks in golf you will ever experience. That was what stuck out to me the most when playing it for the first time. My favorite hole is the 7th hole. There is not a more scenic hole in golf in my opinion. The most challenging hole I would say is the 8th hole. There is no room for error at any point, and throw that on top of some usually pretty steady winds just makes it a tough hole no matter what.

V V Golf Team member J.T. Poston punched his first card for the PGA Tour back in 2017. Known around the links as “Postman,” J.T. started making headlines in August 2019, when he won his first professional competition, the Wyndham Championship, after shooting 8-under 62 in the final round and going bogey free.

What's the best shot you’ve ever made?

I was at Regionals my senior year of college and needed to make birdie on the last hole to force a playoff and have a chance of advancing to the National Championship. I hit two great shots to give myself a birdie putt from about 25 feet. With my season/college career on the line, I was able to make the putt and advance through the playoff and become the first player from Western Carolina University to make it to the NCAA championship in golf.

What’s your go-to vineyard vines gear?

My favorite vineyard vines styles are the On-The-Go 5-Pocket Pants that I wear on the course, as well as the cashmere pullovers. They keep me warm when it’s cold on the course and allow me to swing freely and perform at a high level without too much restriction.
