Very soft, in my opinion this is far more a thin wale corduroy fabric than a velvet. I was a little disappointed that it really is not plush velvet, but I am okay with keeping as I really love it. A fun pretty and soft dress, just feels great on. Also purchased the black velvet belt sold here and it looks terrific with the dress. Will wear with black tights and flats, great for the holidays and beyond.
